Dr. Michael Civin

Prior to becoming an esteemed psychologist and university professor, Dr. Michael Civin spent many years studying toward this end goal. His education began early as he earned an A.B. degree from Harvard College in 1968 then a Masters of Arts degree in 1970 from the University of Oregon.

For the next several years, Dr. Michael Civin worked, beginning his adult life. But by the 1980s, he was ready for medical studies. In 1986, he completed a second Masters of Arts from Adelphi University’s clinical psychology program. Just two years later, he graduated from the same university with his Ph.D., becoming an esteemed alumni of the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Services. Following some time conducting post-doctoral work, Civin officially moved into the field of psychology through direct practice and educational work with up-and-coming students.
